Colectivo Coffee Evanston

The new male manager has turned us off from coming here ever again, and we’ve been coming to this location for over 2 years. We’ve been to Colectivo locations in Madison, Milwaukee, and Chicago, and this is by far the worst location.The manager is incredibly rude and, as a result, the entire staff is now extremely comfortable being hostile to customers. Service industry work can be draining, but openly complaining about customers right behind the register is not okay, and the complaints are about basic orders, not even problem behavior. The amount of attitude you get when you remind them that you did order a bakery item is astonishing. Since this manager arrived, we have rarely if ever been able to place mobile orders and we have confirmed that other Chicago locations are accepting orders during these times.There are plenty of other coffee shops in Evanston, and we will be taking our business there moving forward.

Ordered a small brewed coffee and received (and was charged for) a medium cold brew. The coffee itself is good but not worth almost $5 after tax. That said, lots of seating and outlets making it good for working. Nice atmosphere and staff, just overpriced.

Nice place off of transit. Nice environment for earlier in the morning. Coffee was solid. Will likely go again and give the food a try.Atmosphere: 5/5

A nice coffee shop, coffee isn’t bad nor was it amazingly out of this world. My only problem is their internet kicks you off every 60 minutes and you have to reconnect, besides that it has a nice ambience to work at.Food: 5/5

The manager at this location is notorious for being extremely rude. He confused my friend for another black man that he had reprimanded at the store, and when we pointed this out, he kicked us out of the coffee shop. Instead of apologizing, he chose to double down and punish us for his own mistake. I would never recommend the spot to anyone.
