Betty Kaye's Smokehouse - Rapid City

The BBQ here is disappointing; it doesn't resemble authentic barbecue at all. Most of the food tastes like it was reheated from pre-cooked meals. The brisket was overcooked and tough, while the burnt ends were overboiled and lacked any real flavor or texture. Before I even asked, they offered me pre-packaged BBQ sauces, and the one they brought was an overly sweet peach flavor that had no real kick. There was also no Carolina-style sauce available. I also tried the fried catfish, which tasted like something you'd find at any chain restaurant. If you’re looking for genuine BBQ, this isn’t the place.
