Mister C's Beach Bistro - Aboite

Still one of the most over hyped restaurants. So many better establishments to dine at. Still one of the most overrated restaurants I have been to. Best to drink up before dining. It's the only way you will tolerate eating such mediocre cooking.

First time impromptu visit. Nice chill spot on the ocean. We came for a post dinner drink and were pleasantly surprised. Nice spot to go with a group where you can hear yourselves chat. Drinks were reasonable As they can be these days. No frills service. Easy parking. Good off the beaten spot for quiet drinks. Didn 't have any food so can 't comment there. Outdoor bar with plenty of tables. Indoor space looked intimate. Staff seemed attentive and bustling.

STAY FAR WAY! I chose to host my friends bridal shower here last Saturday. My first meeting with the manager Madelyn, should have made me think twice about continuing my party with them. In hindsight, McDonalds would have given 10x better service. Anyway, she acted like a know it all, was condescending, and when I had any questions she made me feel like an idiot for even asking. Fast foward months later. The amount of invitations that went out was 45, but only 25 people were able to attend. I emailed and called twice to discuss. Finally, after a week, I got a call back because I threatened to take my party somewhere else. Madelyn was not accommodating. Told me I was not allowed to have a buffet anymore because I did not have enough guests coming. She said that I needed to reach out to all of my guests and get there food orders ahead of time. Seriously lady? Don 't let me forget to mention that while I was begging her to let me just have to food orders, another lady in the background was screaming about saying how I was an idiot and how she wasn 't switching anything and how she TOLD ME ALREADY! So moving on to the day of the party. Thank God this Madelyn lady wasn 't at the restaurant! Our party attendant Vicki and our server (so sorry, forgot his anme was AMAZING! Thank God they were, because they were literally the only good thing aside from the view. All of the windows were disgusting. I asked one of the bussers to borrow his towel that he was holding and the glass cleaner. The towel that he had just cleaned with was covered in nasty food and sauce. How are you using this to clean?? So here I was, wiping down the doors that were covered in food and swipes of finger prints alllll over the entrance doors where my guests were going to be entering. Totally not a clean environment. The bathroom has a huge fake tree in it. How mortified was I when a group of ladies from my party came out and were totally disgusted by how it was completely covered in caked on dust....like it looked like 5 years worth of nasty. No one seemed to care when I brought it up later. The actual shower was beautiful because they had people working my party that were professional, attentive, and very accommodating. So the party is wrapping up and the bill comes out. When I origianlly met with Madelyn as well as having it written in our contract, the restaurant charges a percentage if you choose to use a credit card. I was well aware of that, so I chose to use my debit card. I paid the tab and we packed up the party. I even gave away the centerpeices/cupcakes/cookies/booze to the staff....all of which they deserved and I felt good about. Come Monday, I get a phone call from Madelyn. You used a credit card and Vicki didn 't charge you the fee for doing that. You owe us $60.22. I replied by telling her that, I did not use a credit card, that I used a debit card and nowhere in our contract does it say anything about debit cards. As a matter of fact, I would have brought cash if it had stated that. She replied, Debit cards and credit cards transactions are the same!!! That the fees for using a debit card are actually higher then credit cards and I was lucky.....And on top of not charging you that fee, the server didn 't charge you enough for the kids meals. They should have been $40 for the chicken fingers! I was like $40 for chicken fingers!??? So as you could assume, I told her that both of these issues weren 't mine to worry about. I did not use a credit card, your restaurant chose to run my card as a credit card because they are cheap. (PHIL MURPHY passed a law and charging debit cards a fee is actually ILLEGAL. Madelyn told me that I was getting defensive and that she discussed this fee THOUROUGHLY with me prior...that she encouraged me bringing a check or cash. None of those were true. It simply was written ONLY ABOUT CREDIT CARDS. At this point I just wanted to forget all about this restaurant. Never go back and never have to deal with this lady again. She requested for me to email and write that I authorize the charge. If $60 bucks meant for her to disappear, I decided to say fine. I then get an email that says if I drive to the restaurant and give them a check instead they will wave the fee and give it back. Why didn 't you just spare me this conversation and not charge the fee and keep it moving and NOT CALL ME BITCHING. This lady should have retired a long long time ago. She is nasty and beyond rude. These people have no customer service skills and this restaurant would be better ran by a monkey. Change the wording in your contract. Its a contract...its binding and your lucky I don 't pursue legal action. You should drive ME a check and apologize for how crappy you treated me.And if you read this Madelyn....shame on you.End rant.

A friend brought me here for dinner. I ordered a lamb burger and she had fish tacos. She had a glass of rosé, while drank water. The view was gorgeous as upon my previous visit. We had a fine waiter. I was assuming he was in training as he was shadowed by a more experienced waitress. They were both pleasant, friendly and accommodating. While we were dining, dolphins swam by. Idyllic! My lamb burger was delicious.

Very disappointed with Mr. C's... 1st, I remember it being a higher quality restaurant in food and ambiance , it went down hill. 2nd, how can you murder a chopped salad, well they did. 3rd. ordered Chicken Murphy, well you know the rest! Being very generous with 2 stars...... A diner would have been better :
