Bandex Thai - Accra

There really isn't much Thai restaurants here in Ghana and I am not Thai, so I probably am not the best person to endorse their authenticity, but I am from Taiwan, so compare to those dark tacky Chinese restaurants that provide bad Chinese food, this place is my go to place when I miss home and when I feel I need to have noodles or soup that are prepared in a way that I am most familiar with. Their Pat See Eew (with seafood) brings my home to me every time I miss home (we have a lot of Thai restau in Taiwan), I like their small and humble restaurant decor too. PS They also do take out and they have chopsticks!

If you are ever in Accra and you feel the urge for some Thai food, Bandex Thai could be the place for you! Based in East Legon, this small restaurant serves some of the best Thai food in Ghana. Vegetarian ? Try the tofu options for a great taste. Meat eater? The chicken dishes are highly recommended. 4 out of 5 stars...

It nice place with a very good meal despite the premises areas are smaller the food is delicious I am love with this place.

While there is a nice outdoor sitting area we chose to sit inside, which was a mistake as the air conditioning was broken and the two ceiling fans just circulated hot air. We ordered chicken Pad Thai and Tofu Pad Thai, fresh rolls (not to be confused with cold rolls), and a red Thai iced tea. The fresh rolls were nice with the peanut sauce, good mix of vegetables. The Pad Thai was mediocre. Lacked sauce and vegetable, mostly cabbage and shredded carrot. Chicken didn’t have any flavour. Tofu was decently flavoured. Basically it was underwhelming and plain tasting. The red Thai iced tea had enough sugar to leave you with diabetes. The food took a long time, a young Ghanaian woman who seemed to be the cook did inform us that there was a delay, which was kind, but we were the only people there. Didn’t feel like a restaurant, more like eating in a stranger’s living room while they watched Kumkum Bhagya. Not likely to return.
