The Towne Friar - Acton

This restaurant experience was quite disappointing. The fish was overly battered, making it difficult to appreciate its flavor. Additionally, the fries tasted like they were a day old—honestly, they were unappetizing and completely inedible. If you decide to dine here, make sure to request fresh chips rather than reheated ones. If you're getting takeout, definitely taste the fries before leaving. The prices are quite high, and at the very least, they should serve decent fried potatoes. I ended up gagging and throwing them away because they were so dried out. Overall, I left feeling let down.

The fish and chips are absolutely delicious! The owners are incredibly friendly, and the service is always prompt!

The fries could use a longer cooking time or perhaps the fryer temperature needs to be increased, as they tend to be a bit soggy. I recommend ordering them well-done. While I understand this is a fish and chip shop, they are noticeably greasier than at many other places. Additionally, the entire restaurant is in urgent need of a deep clean.

We ordered halibut and chips the other day and the food was excellent! Great service, very efficient and polite. Highly recommend this place.
