Bidra med feedbackI love breakfast at the Delicatessen and that is when I usually eat there. My go to dish is breakfast cassoulet (French style beans) with baked eggs. It has whole (delicious) sausages in it! There are huge chunks of meat in between the beany goodness. The sauce is rich. It comes with excellent toast that has been generously buttered. A great start to the day. <br/ <br/ However, a rare trip at lunchtime provided me with the opportunity to revisit their lunch menu, in particular their sandwiches. I know the Rueben is good so I went for the Croque Madame which is a fancy ham and cheese toastie with an egg on it. This was an excellent lunch as the toastie came with asparagus spears and a nice salad. Great atmosphere and professional staff.
We arrived there 15 minutes to 9am and probably became their first table having breakfast. Coffee was fairly good but not amazing. There were couples of people grabbing coffee with their colleague. I ordered Croque madame it was very tasty but bacon inside was a bit salty. Top egg was cooked just as it meant to be.Portuguese tart was crispy but slightly sweeter than my taste. Service was warm and i really like the music they played. Nice place for breakfast. My fellow said she will definitely back again~Sorry no photos cuz we already had a bite on food before taking pictures.
Everything we ordered was great, service was quick and the waitresses smiles were quicker. I had the steak medium rare with some fancy named butter which was amazing and the entrees we shared were also great... did i mention this place was great?
One of my favourite dining experiences in Adelaide! Having visited on multiple occasions, each visit continues to live up to its expectations. The service is attentive and consistent. The chef certainly knows flavour, with every dish delicately balanced and seasoned to perfection. Thank you Delicatessen for always delivering the goods!
Excellent food, generous serves and good service. I came here to celebrate my partners birthday and they happened to have a great deal going, $45 for three courses which was quite exciting seeing as some of the mains were nearly as expensive on their own (there are cheaper options however). From what I can see they have deals and special set meals quite often, which keeps things interesting. The place was very quiet on a Saturday night, there were only 2 tables other than us. However, this probably had something to do with the hot weather and the fact that it wasn’t a whole lot cooler inside. The food itself was delicious, we ordered the pork scratchings and baked Camembert for entree, probably a mistake ordering two rich dishes but no regrets there. For mains, we had the steak (cooked nicely) and the mussels (very creamy and filling). Then we finished off with desserts which really weren’t needed but still appreciated (chocolate mousse and coconut sorbet). Wine range was decent. The waitress was also happy to recommend cocktails for us based on our tastes. Overall an excellent meal, especially if you are in the mood for some creamy, rich food. I would love to return in future to try out their lunch and breakfast options.
