Bidra med feedbackSo let's get the professionals first: Our server was the sweetest lady we've ever met. Very knowledgeable with the menu, gave good recommendations and got our food out in time. The only problem we had with the server was after we had finished eating, she never came back to give us our check. Where the contrasts come from: A gentleman (who I heard was the owner) who sat us, went by and I kindly chased him down and asked if we could wait after 20 minutes. The man gave us an annoying look, put his hands up and said in an aggressive voice? I don't have your check!? And left. He came back after a minute and asked? Who was your waiter? After he had explained how our waitress looked, he cried on her and gave her attitude. That was a shock for me and my family! I've never seen that before. Usually, when I'm in other restaurants and the waiter takes a long time to ask if we?re ready for the check, I'll ask a worker by and they'll kindly say?so sorry about that, let me get your waiter?. I have never experienced such a rude reaction. Not only this man, but as our waitress helped other tables, other employees would go past her and make rude comments. I've never been so uncomfortable. I DO NOT recommend Kabuki and will not return! Worst experience ever!
I had not been here since the early 1990s but decided wanted to enjoy dinner here. Well the place was kinda run down to be honest. It needs a full make over for sure. The tables were really clean and seats seemed to be redone so it was good seating. They have full plexiglass barriers at every booth for covid safety as well. But they had restaurant supplies piled up where you could see them which is an easy fix to me. But let's get to the food... we had Shrimp Tempura and sashimi. I love my shrimp tempura and it was good. I can say I would enjoy it again if the placed got a face lift. I did enjoy the Japanese kabuki music that plays in the background as you enjoy your meal. Makes you feel more at home.
First and last time sitting in restaurant. Misoyaki Butterfish was more on the 'yucky ' then Misoyaki, Tasted like eating Saba. Teri Beef was just sauce squeezed on some meat.
Bbq ribs plate was delicious. My husband had the butterfish and was pleased with its flavor. Everything we ordered was flavorful. Our waitress who was a small short japanese local young lady forgot her name but has short hair and had it up in two buns gave us excellent and pleasant service. She was consistent but gave us space enjoying our dinner. My little girl loved her ice cream shave ice! Yum!!???
This is my favorite Japanese restaurant in the Aiea/Pearl City area. The food and price are great. I usually get their 2 choice Japanese food combo. However, my favorite is their Nama Chirashi bowl. The mix of seafood types, the quality and quantity of the seafood is outstanding. I've tried Chirashi bowls from other Japanese restaurants in the area (Mililani Sakura, Waikele, Zippys PC, etc) , but none can compare at their price. See attached photos of this and other dishes we ordered. My grandson had the kiddie plate, and the others were 2 x combo teshokus. Mine was the last Nama Chirashi.
