Mackenzie Pub & Restaurant - Ajax

The food was excellent and the service was exceptional!

My hubby and I visited this restaurant with friends last Saturday. We waited for our food to arrive. When my hubby's came out it was not correct and no attempt was made to correct it. He was not offered to have what he ordered prepared for him and they did not take it off our bill. They are too many nice restaurants around to go to one who does not respect the customer.

We went to MacKenzie's for a quick dinner on a Sunday. It's a new restaurant so we wanted to try it out. The first thing I noticed was that there are TV's everywhere, and you can catch any game you want. They had them all playing. The menu is extensive and has everything including different pub (wings, burgers, wrap), old English pub food like sheppards pie, steak and mushroom pie, and international food such at curry, pad thai, jerk chicken, tandoori, stir fry, and 3 types of poutine. There is something for everyone. I thought the food wouldn't be that good because there were too many items on the menu for the chef to perfect, but our meals were quite good. We tried the steak and mushroom pie, French onion soup, and greek salad. All were fresh and tasty. The beer selection was good and I could even get a low carb beer. Overall a good meal so we will go back for a casual dinner. Next time I'll bring my 4 sons as they would love the selection on the menu because they all have different tastes. The atmosphere was good for a pub, and the tables are spread out nicely so you're not on top of the table next to you. They have live entertainment on weekends but we didn't get to see that. It's nice to have a place to go for dinner and see live entertainment.

I had heard mixed reviews of this relatively new pub in Ajax and my wife and I paid our first visit on Saturday. Seating was handled efficiently and our waitress introduced herself about a minute later and took our drinks order. You'll need time to review the extensive selection of items on the menu. My Kilkenny was well pored and tasted great. Our meals of the fish 'n chips and turkey and cranberry pie very good and the prices are reasonable.We will definitely be visiting again.

Decided to give this place a try. Had not been to any of the previous incarnations at this location. Place has a nice feel to it although a bit noisy. We were seated promptly and menus presented. It is a large menu with a real mix of food styles. Clam Chowder was very good, the bride really like her Middle Eastern flat bread, my tandoori chicken was very good, portions are large, wait staff are polite and professional. Price is about right. Would recommend to others and will be back again.
