Came here on the way back to El Paso.A little barbecue joint in Alamogordo, the environment is nice and neat, food is fine.Brisket moist was ok, while their Pork Ribs are fat and juicy, my friend said that it's the best he had so far, and I would agree.
The food is good. We have eaten there twice. Both times, I had the 1 meat plate. I ordered sausage, and there was a big difference in the amount of meat received both times. The first time, 2 guys were working, and I received a nice portion of sausage. This past Sunday, there were 2 ladies working, and I only received about half the sausage I got on our first visit. Sad cause food is good.
So much potential. Ordered 3 meals: pulled pork, ribs, sausage and brisket. 2x 2-meat, 1x 3 meat. Placed online order which was one of the best things about this place. On arriving at 5:30pm (not late in the evening, on a Saturday) they informed me that they were out of ribs and pulled pork. Only have brisket (chopped and sliced) and sausage. No other meats. So we all had brisket. It was ok. Nothing extraordinary. But the 2-meat meals had more meat than the 3 meat meal with less than a hot dog worth of sausage in there too. Banana pudding sounded great but was bland, about 1/3 whipped cream. Such an easy opportunity. Also the rolls were cheap store-bought. Ok but prob cost more than making fresh cornbread.
This is by far the best barbecue in New Mexico . I was in line behind a couple of families from Texas. They said they always come through Alamogordo to head for the mountains and the one reason they stop in Alamogordo is for Fatwood Barbecue.Parking: Parking is very convenientKid-friendliness: Very family friendly
