Mr. D's - Albany

The atmosphere and service were lovely, but unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations. The clam chowder was lacking in flavor and had lumps of flour. I ordered the Argentine burger, but the sauce overwhelmed the well-cooked patty, making it nearly unappetizing. My wife's pasta dish was just as disappointing. It's a shame for a nice restaurant located in a decent hotel.

We have dined at Mr. D's and the previous restaurants at this location many times over the years for breakfast, but this was our first experience with brunch. I'm not sure it was the best decision. Like many establishments these days, they appeared to be struggling with limited staff.

Sunday brunch has quickly become one of my favorites! The menu is wonderful, offering a bit of everything—both savory and sweet options. The strawberry soup is absolutely delightful! There are plenty of mimosas to choose from, and each table gets a carafe of hot coffee.

Very pleasant, good food, the noise level was quite high. The noise was the only down side of a pleasant evening.

While staying in the Desmond Hotel Crowne Plaza, I used the Mr. D's restuarant to conduct two interviews. The manager and staff were understanding and accomodating to allow me to use quiet area of the restaurant. One of the interviews was at 12 and had lunch with interview. Food was good. Wait staff was attentive.
