Bidra med feedbackSol Dourado is a superb snack bar we found last year and as we were heading into The Old Town we thought we would drop in for a quick drink. This is a tiny well kept bar,a neat interior with great decor and furnishings and a small terrace outside. We initially went into here for a light meal and a drink or two,we took a table outside were a very pleasant member of staff took our order of a vodka and coke each while we checked out the menu, our drinks arrived and they were lovely ,the young lady told us that the menu was a bit limited as chef was running late ,this was no problem as we decided to eat in the next bar and enjoy another drink in here and we opted to have a Super Bock beer each and these were served in tip top condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this cool little cafe bar. The Super Bock beer was outstanding,as temperatures were hitting the 30 degrees plus mark this beer was a perfectly refreshing light and hoppy beer made for the great weather they get in this beautiful sun drenched resort. We rally enjoyed our drinks in here and had a great time before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. Sol Dourado is really easy to locate on Rua Dad Telecomunicacias on the way to the Old Town. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday,Open from breakfast till late. A great snack bar and well worth checking out.
Quick Review: just keep on walking.. Day 2 for some reason it was decided that taking the bus into town would be fun n might be cheap option of traveling around Albufeira. Red line bus taken which brought us on long non scenic tour and ended up 25 min walk from town centre! Don't take a bus in Albufeira as Taxis almost same price for 4! On long walk into town kids starving so we stopped at Sol Dourado. Looks nice enough so ask for menu got to try my google live translate on menu as no English version. Decided on 2 pizzas for kids and Burgers. Service won't bowl you over but I don't believe the one waitress speaks English and my family wouldn't let me play more with google translate to chat to her!! Cafe was empty and only 1 waitress and 1 young girl in prep area. I looked up TripAdvisor and feared the worst after seeing listing. Pizzas were like the microwave mini ones you can buy and came out uncooked. My burger was lukewarm and the cheap frozen type. No Big AL's here mate! We left most of the food behind. We were not checked upon during or after meal and I believe waitress wanted to avoid the answers she would be used of. Our fault for 1. Not looking at TA 2. Realising empty at lunch time tells its own story! Conclusion: Even if your reading this seated at the table don't be polite get up and walk to the next location. Lots to choose nearby. Needs a overhaul on food quality and service.
This was a lovely little cafe/restaurant we found as we were heading towards the amazing Old Town of Albufeira. Really small inside we decided to sit outside on their cosy terrace were a very pleasant member of staff took our order of a couple of refreshing coffee's and after a short wait our coffee's arrived steaming hot and we just kicked back and chilled out and planned out the rest of the day ahead in this wonderful resort while sipping our delicious coffee's. The coffee's were delicious and it was so nice just chilling out before heading into the Old Town. We had a very pleasant time in here before we moved. Very easy to locate Rua Das Telecomunicacoes. Well worth checking out.
