Bidra med feedbackDefinitely a quality restaurant. Was craving some Mexican food and this is definitely a great spot. The pictures will show you the portions are significant. Taste was very Good but there?s been better out there. The third picture will show you some chips, salsa and guacamole. Ten dollars for the guacamole seems a bit much. The hot sauce on the bottom right of the third picture was what they gave me when I asked for the ?spiciest homemade hot sauce? they had. Seemed to be a
Ordered takeout fish taco, enchiladas, flautas and quesadilla. All were the same taste, very bland and flavorless. I don't think I've ever had a Mexican or Tex-Mex dish that had absolutely NO flavor, being that this is my favorite food. The stars are only for Maria (I heard someone call her that) who was very friendly.
Lunch time was wonderful. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I enjoyed sitting by the window, watching people go by. The prices are reasonable for Alexandria, and the portions were generous enough to keep me satisfied for the rest of the day.
I'm not sure how this restaurant earned so many stars. We were seated and didn't receive menus. We ended up ordering before we even had water at the table. We tried the mojitos, but I wouldn't recommend them; they tasted like flavored seltzer water. The "salsa" was simply chopped tomatoes and onions in diluted tomato juice. We also got queso, which just tasted like melted American cheese. For our entree, we ordered fajitas—hard to mess up, right? Unfortunately, we were wrong. Every dish lacked flavor, with the only dominant taste being onion. I can't recommend this place.
I found this charming restaurant years ago, and I've never been let down. I can't believe I haven't written a review until now. The margaritas are fantastic, and I've tried about 6 or 7 of their entrees, all of which were excellent. The customer service has consistently been wonderful as well. Just thinking about the incredible food as I type this makes me want to make the trip from Maryland to Virginia for dinner. It's always worth the drive. Bravo, Dos Amigos!
