Bidra med feedbackThis missed restaurant was gone for a while then came back with a renovation and new menu. Unfortunately, the menu and portions had changed from what made this place better than other bland establishments in Del Ray. Keep the new decor but please bring back the previous menu choices and larger portion size.
A pasta place that we wanted to love but left desiring more. We had the mushroom appetizer to start. It was cooked perfectly with a nice pan sauce. The entrees really missed the mark for the neighborhood, even a pizza by the slice joint could have done better. The chicken Parmesan was over-broiled. No one want likes tough chicken devoid of juice. It's like someone cooked it for the first time with 2 spoons of marinara on top. Dry is an understatement. The spaghetti was cooked al dente and had a bite, which was its only saving grace. The love had the risotto but they used cream. Basically boiled rice that was tossed in cream sauce. Cheese depth was limited. Flavor was just salted heavy cream. This place I may try again but doubtful.
Re-opened with a totally revamped vibe, Rosemarino brings solid Italian food to the Avenue with exceptional service. Nestled right along Del Ray's Mt Vernon Ave, Rosemarino is now open again following a brief closure for COVID. The newly renovated interior is fresh and welcoming, offering an opened up space that brings a flavor of DC modern dining to this true-to-the-neighborhood property. Definitely get the fried mozz to start, and any of their pasta dishes. I'm a sucker for their gnocci. And their bar and libations offerings pair well with the food. For a great Italian dinner with a hometown feel (but still a clean, upscale dining room), check out Rosemarino's for your next dining out!
Was pleasantly surprised. Food was better than average, service was good, and atmosphere was cozy. My only complaint would be that Affogato should ALWAYS be served with one scoop of gelato and one espresso on the side . The guest will then pour the espresso over the gelato. .there is no other way. The restaurant and/or server should never bring it to you already mixed...if they do send it back. I would come back bc the food has a lot of potential and I want this place to be successful.
I'm thrilled that this place has reopened after being temporarily closed due to COVID. The atmosphere is great, the service is nice, and the pasta is delicious. Personally, I'm a fan of the Amatriciana, which is pancetta, onion, garlic, basil pesto, hand-crushed tomato, and homemade rigatoni. A must try, especially if you live in Del Ray or Old Town
