-Prices didn?t match the menu. Manager said, ? Updating menu as we speak? but did not adjust our bill. I took photos and disputed with CC company. -Server?s second day and was alone. She was clearly overwhelmed and scattered. -Took well over an hourto get food. -Literally had to ask 4 times for water refills. -Asked 3 times for box. I considered just taking the plate homeinstead of a box. -Ordered nachos that were sent to another table. Wrong table knew that was there nachos. Server took back andtried to put on our table after sitting on their table for several minutes. -Very questionable food safety practices. Only goodthing I can say is that drinks are cheap. Too many other great places in the area. Needs better management.
I tried the Impossible Burger, and it was quite good. There was nothing extraordinary about the preparation—just your standard bar burger with typical toppings, but vegan. I really enjoyed it. They also had other options like BBQ pulled jackfruit. I wish they offered a vegan cheese option for the burger. Unfortunately, none of the vegan items were on their regular menu. Maybe that will change, but I find it frustrating that you have to ask the waiter to learn about the options. The prices were reasonable. I don’t remember exactly how much I paid, but it wasn’t outrageous for what you get. Overall, it was nice to have some good options on the menu. I hope they continue to expand these offerings, and I admire places that aren’t afraid to innovate. I would recommend this spot for a super casual outing.
I recently had the best pulled jackfruit I've ever tasted. This place offers a great selection of bar snacks, including some vegan options. Although vegan dishes aren’t officially on the menu yet, the servers are very knowledgeable, so feel free to ask. They also have TVP tacos and the Impossible Burger. If you don’t mind dairy, you can request additional ingredients from the regular burger menu for the Impossible Burger. The restaurant has a large cash area and even offers slot machines.
The burger I had was delicious, and I'm glad that they offer vegan options. I do wish they had a cheese or mayo alternative available. Overall, it was a nice choice for a casual outing! I plan to try the tacos next. The restaurant itself is quite small; we sat at the bar near the slot machines, and it felt a bit cramped with people bumping into us from behind. That said, it didn't detract from the experience, especially given the lively atmosphere with sports on. A big thank you for the vegan options in Algonquin!
