Bidra med feedbackThe Cantonese Food talk about Wok Chi . Their dishes does have wok chi!!! Right portion and right taste. The friendly service is awesome. Refilled our tea right away. The environment is clean and comfortable. Great place for private parties and family dinner. Only problem I did not give 5 stars is that they should display some wine.
Slipped into this place with my daughter and her friends at 10 minutes to midnight looking for a late meal after the Harry Styles concert. Even though they closed at midnight the waiter invited us in and the cook fired up the kitchen! Had a tasty meal of wonton noodle soup, chicken chow mein with crispy noodles, Peking style pork chops, and Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce. The waiter joked with us and made sure we had everything we needed. Let us stay as long as we wanted. The food was delicious and the attitude of the staff made a perfect ending to a great evening.
Found out it was the same owner from Hao Jing seafood in hacienda heights so decided to give it a try. quality and value as always!
This place is known for their fresh eel. When I say fresh, I mean live swimming in water. There aren't many places in usa that has these so they aren't cheap. $40 per pound and they are usually 3-4lbs per white eel. The white eel reminds me of Chinese steam fish but more fatty skin and less meat. To be honest I hated steam fish as a kid and I thought I would hate this but I came here to try because my mom missed this food. To my surprise, they cooked it fairly well. I can eat this. The sauce is the amazing part. The eel was cooked well but still is not my favorite. My mom on the other hand loved this as this reminds her of hong kong. The lamb hotpot was decent. It was as I expected. I will come back though because apparently their congee looks really good and they have live yellow eel which is the one I actually want. So I'll update once I try that.
Taste of all the dishes were not bad, except the clay pot one. Usually Hong Kong style café included rice with dishes, but they don't. Atmosphere and quality of services were not pleasant. When we came, its business was slow. A server helped three tables. I heard people wanted to have hot drinks, she shouted back and said only cold drinks. That server seemed unhappy and rude. Alhambra is a very competitive market for Hong Kong cafe. Diners definitely have so many choices. I think the operator needs go out and tries other restaurants in local markets. All the best!
