Oxley's Bistro - Allerdale

We ate here a few times during a stay in underscar and every time was nice. they have a small number of dressed on the menu and all are fresh and cooked to a high standard. at least one option is always vegetarian and the cook. has this for me to be vegan every night. I would recommend booking because it is quite small so that could be busy. it is not very cheap, but it is competitive with nearby restaurants, and much smaller, which means more concentrated service. the atmosphere lacks something because it is quite calm, probably due to the location, but it is a nice place to go with a group of them. big wein and pudding! it looks over the pool that is something strange when there are noisy children, but I felt like it was part of the fun.

Called in on a Saturday at lunch time. Had a couple of beers and ordered food, which was freshly made would have given excellent ratings if they had any draft beers

Nice restaurant/ bar in relaxing setting. Lovely pool, spa on site with jacuzzi and steam room. Light meals served at lunchtimes with bottled beers, wine etc. Friendly staff.

Lovely people, food was delicious but was far too big (for us). Needs a bit more atmosphere though as a bit sparse

We visit the timeshares at Underscar at least once a year and whatever the time of year we are amazed that the owners do not frequent this excellent Bistro as much as they should. The menu is well priced, against the restaurants in town. The...food is always freshly prepared and tasty. The staff are attentive and pleasant. What more could you want. As the headline says, use it, to lose it !
