The New Bookshop - Allerdale

I was very disappointed with the panini I ordered. It wasn’t a panini it was a toasted baguette roll and the filling was very sparse. What was there was nice but it needed more. The coffee was lovely though.

We nearly missed this brilliant, not so little, place. We had disappointing coffees until our last morning! Had it not been for the little tables outside would have only gone in to browse the books. Outstandingly good cappuccino and Americano brought all the way outside by a super friendly lady. Go inside... It's massive! Do not walk past!

We love the bookshop café for a light lunch. The coffee is excellent and there is vegetarian options. The cakes and scones are always fresh. It’s always fun to have a browse in the bookshop after- a great place to pick up a book or gift. Recommend to anyone visiting the town

Discovered this hidden gem while exploring the town. Enjoyed a delicious lunch of frittata and salad, as well as rarebit with salad. The homemade coleslaw was a standout. The friendly team provided good service. Perfect spot for coffee and cake after perusing a charming bookshop. Highly recommended.

The tea at New Book Shop was delightful and the scone was the best I've had in a long time. It was the perfect treat after browsing through books. Thank you, New Book Shop!
