Rusty Moose - Alton

I just had one of the worst plates of food ever. Blackened shrimp was barely edible, undoubtedly the cap fell off the salt shaker. Five people in the place should have warned me, but then again maybe they can make a hamburger. Seriously take it off the menu.

Great little place. Bar pie is excelent. Fried green beans are great as well. I ordered spicy corn chorizo chowder well no go on that one. It was 2 cans of corn in a bowl, I sent back for more broth and it did come back with broth but no chiorzo and no kick.Cook needs to step it up. I make chicken corn chowder and no way is this comparable. DO NOT ORDER!!!!! The cook said it’s because it’s hearty! Well no way is this hearty! It’s 2-3 cans of corn ONLY!!!!

Went on a Friday and they had a live band in the bar area. The ambiance was really nice and rustic. My food was good which was the BBQ chicken with bacon and cheese on it and the couple we went with said there food was also good. But my girlfriend on the other hand said her burger was over cooked and had a maple taste to it but I thought it was fine. Overall would definitely come back here.
