Rook's East Side Saloon - Ambridge

I have to be honest: having just moved back, I was very disappointed with my meal here. The food was not good and took a long time to prepare. To make matters worse, there was a bug in my drink, and it felt like the waitress didn't even bother to check it before serving it to me.

I've visited this restaurant about six times for wing night, and my favorites are the mild and honey barbecue wings. The wings are always fresh and meaty—crispy, hot, and perfectly sauced. They also come with a good portion of celery and dressing on the side.

The burgers here are among the best in the area, made fresh to order. Rook's also serves one of the top fried fish sandwiches locally, though it still doesn't quite measure up to Dorido's in South Park, PA. The chicken salad is excellent as well. Unfortunately, their French fries have been disappointing lately, arriving soggy and lacking the crispiness they used to have. Be sure to check them out for their St. Patrick’s Day festivities and meals. We went this past year, and the corned beef and cabbage dinner was absolutely worth the wait—truly divine!
