Bidra med feedbackHad Ethiopian food for the first time with a friend and we both just absolutely loved it!!! Apart from having good food the staff was so attentive to us. We had who I presume to be the owner check in on us every few minutes to make sure we were doing good .Will be coming here again with more friends for sure.
I like this spot the food and service was a very authentic experience. I'm not too familiar with Ethiopian food to compare it. But I ate it all and enjoyed and hope to go back again soon.
VEGAN REVIEW! Came here for a last dinner with my roommates. I had the veggie platter while my roomies had other dishes. I will say that the service is TOP NOTCH. It's definitely one of those gemstone restaurants where you can tell so much labor and love goes into the food and service. The cashier educated us on the menu and food etiquette. I believe it's a family-owned restaurant and the family always checks in on you and makes nice convo! Definitely one of those restaurants where you befriend all the workers. Hopefully I can come back here again when I visit California!
This cuisine was something out of my comfort zone, but I saw it was gluten free so I had to try it. Really pleasantly surprised; the combo plate of veggies and tibbs hits. The injera that everything is served with is basically a sourdough crepe, but it's really good.
Pros: Great kitfo, awaze and mitmita. Fresh and delicious, just as every solid Ethiopian place I 've been to all over the DC Area, and random places throughout the US including New York, Arizona, Nevada, Florida, and in LA. Pretty much all the Ethopian places don 't screw up my go to 's: kitfo and tibs. They 're all delicious. And the hospitality here was great, too. Deal breaker: They charged me extra for awaze and mitmita, at $3 each. I 've never been charged for these condiments, anywhere. I 've been eating Ethiopian food for 18 years now. I took a picture of the receipt and texted it to my Habesha friend in DC and she said Lol that 's bizarre, don 't return. I thought the same. I get that awaze and mitmita carry a cost. It 's not cheap like mayo and ketchup. But it would feel better if they just built that into the cost of the entree. It 's like going on Spirit Airlines and feeling like a schmuck because they 're charging you for water.
