Del Taco - Anaheim

If you've been to any Del Taco, the food is no different here. This review is purely based on the location. Even before stepping foot inside, I got a bad vibe--trash was littered everywhere. Once I went inside, that same concept of trash continued. I couldn't believe people were okay eating in there. I felt instantly dirty--and mind you, I was already covered in sweat from the gym. I am pretty confident I caught something stepping foot in there... the restaurant needs a serious wake up call in terms of cleanliness. If the front is that dirty, it makes you question how the food preparation is being handled.

Ah, Del Taco, how I miss thee. I miss your Big Fat Tacos. I miss your value menu. I miss the fact that I can get burgers at your taco place. I miss your tacos el carbon. I miss your ranch chicken soft tacos. I miss your spicy grilled chicken burritos. And that's probably why I'm in your drive-thru any late night I visit my parents in the ol' Heim.

I'm cheap, okay. I don't want to pay Disney prices for food or drink, unless it's something entirely special that I can't get anywhere else in the area. When I went to Epcot Center at DisneyWorld in the Orlando, FL area, I always liked the Norwegian restaurant because of all the fish. When IKEA arrived, I switched restaurants and saved a small bundle. I stopped here today just before going into Disneyland. I like the new Fresca Bowls, especially the Veggie Bowl, with or without taco meat. That's what I got today, with a lemonade. Even though the bowl is only $4.00, the drink brought the price up almost $2.00 more, and that was the smallest size. The staff was friendly and we talked as they worked. It wasn't long and I got my food. It seemed as though they threw in more peppers, which made it more fiery than the fire-roasted veggie bowls I've had in the past--all the better. If the tables had been cleaner, they would have had 5 stars but as it is, they were short of 4.5, so, 4 it is.

I usually stick to three items when I visit: the double Del Cheeseburger, crinkle-cut fries, and a cherry Coke. It's a simple meal—nothing fancy, and the bun is a bit too big for the burger—but I still enjoy it. One of my students, who is almost 6 years old, disagrees with my three-star rating and gives Del Taco a perfect 100 stars! She loves eating here, especially the chicken and cheese tacos, and enjoys sipping her mom's soda. Plus, she appreciates the toy that comes with her kids’ meal. The location at Katella and Harbor has an easy entrance and exit onto Harbor Avenue. If you’re looking for affordable fast food, this place will definitely satisfy your hunger. Review #579

The food here was cold, and the customer service is very poor; the staff seemed indifferent. I was also informed that today is the last day they will be serving soda, as they plan to build a hotel in this location.
