Gandhi Palace - Anaheim

Thank you for an AMAZING dining experience! We were craving Indian cuisine and felt like we hit the jackpot at this restaurant. It was just a short walk from the Hilton, and it was worth every step. The service was excellent; our waiter took the time to explain the different dishes we ordered. The food was delicious, and the portion sizes were generous. The Naan was perfect, and we thoroughly enjoyed the mixed vegetables. On our next visit to Anaheim, we will definitely return to this hidden gem!

The food was fantastic, but I have to say, the service was outstanding. The owners were extremely friendly and assisted us in choosing the perfect dishes. My friends in India recommended several meals, and I’m so glad we decided to try them here—they rank among the best we've ever had. It's crazy that we didn’t discover this restaurant on our first night since it’s located just behind our hotel room. We'll definitely be back for lunch!

This is our second time visiting Gateway to India, and once again, the food was outstanding and the service was excellent. On our first visit, we shared Chicken Tikka Masala and a chicken biryani, paired with Naan and Samosas as starters. This time, we enjoyed the Samosas and Chicken Tikka Masala once more, along with a coconut chicken curry. The kitchen offers the option to choose between mild, medium, or hot spice levels. The flavors truly capture the essence of the dishes, bringing back fond memories of our travels. The family that runs Gateway to India is incredibly gracious, making each visit a pleasure. A fun moment at the table: “Do you have the postie? Good, because now we’re going to destroy it!” Just a note: the dining area closes 30 minutes before the restaurant's closing time. You can place takeout orders (whether in person or via phone) up to 30 minutes before closing.

We loved eating here! I got the tikka masala and my husband got a coconut curry based on the manager’s recommendation! We also got normal basmati rice and garlic naan. All the dishes were amazing, fresh, and hot! Since everything is made to order, it can take a bit longer than quick service restaurants. Despite this, we didn’t have to wait long. Would eat here again for sure!!

I can't stop thinking about my culinary experience in this restaurant. I brought friends who had never had Indian food before and I made an excellent choice. The food was incredibly delicious and the service was very friendly. In fact, I would rate this as one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever visited. I can't wait to go back.
