Inlet Pubhouse - Anchorage

We went to the pub in our hotel for drinks as our time in Anchorage came to an end. Tyrese, our server, was lovely despite the challenging circumstances. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless, like us, you feel you have no other option. The bar and restaurant were quiet on a late Sunday evening, yet it took 45 minutes to receive a glass of wine. The cocktails were poorly made. One mixed drink (D&S) was served without any alcohol, which the bartender initially denied, but later offered to "top off" the drink. Simply adding bitters and lime juice does not create a good cocktail, especially since it was missing ginger beer too. No thank you. I hope your experience is better. There are awards displayed on the wall for this restaurant, so perhaps the missing ingredients for a decent pub experience will be found by the time you visit.

The atmosphere was really impressive. The igloo setup was well-lit, with heating and cooling options, providing our group with plenty of privacy. The food was excellent. Our server was both efficient and friendly. Overall, I’d rate the food a perfect 5/5.

I’m not quite sure what some of the mixed reviews are about because our meal was fantastic. The rib steaks were of excellent quality and cooked to perfection. Everything we had was delicious, and it was presented to us in a timely and appealing manner. Andrew provided outstanding service, being attentive without being intrusive. While the atmosphere was decent, it didn’t quite match the excellence of the meal and service.

Food is not the strong suit here. Pasta was terribly dry, so I sent it back. Ask for a medium cooked hamburger with fries. When I got the burger, it was mostly raw meat. I had to ask the waiter to microwave the burger so I could eat some of it. Very unimpressed with the food and would not eat here again. The bar staff was nice but very busy as he was short staffed.

We loved our visit. We sat inside on the lounge side and enjoyed the live music. Friday evening features a jazz trio that is really great. The server we had was the best. The food was good, and it ranks as an all-around favorite for me now. It's just the right casual all-around relaxing vibe.Food: 4/5
