Bidra med feedbackI came here years ago and there was a spicy tuna tower on a specials menu. I have to order it every time I come now it's so good and unique. This time I came just for the tuna tower and like usual it did not disappoint. It's not a traditional roll it is more like a layered cake with rice on the bottom, crab, avocado, spicy tuna, spicy mayo, eel sauce, sriracha and finally some sesame seeds. I always ask for a fork because it is a bit frustrating to try and eat it with chopsticks. I asked to see if it was still on a specials menu because there wasn't one on our table and the waitress said it is. The price did go up recently though and I'm not sure it's worth $23.
My friend recommended so that I decided to try and was not disappointed!! The raw fish was very fresh and thick sashimi cut was just what I needed. The service was very attentive and friendly. I stayed for a long time talking to my friend, but they were not pushy about clearing the table and let us stay comfortably. I would definitely return to try other food here very soon!!
You get what you pay for, as they say. Peter 's Sushi Spot is one of the more expensive sushi places in town, but the quality warrants the prices. I enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant very much not too loud or too quiet, plenty of space, soft lighting. It was a nice place to unwind after a Monday at work. I sat at the sushi bar by myself. I was promptly brought water and edamame, which is always appreciated. While looking at the food menu, I decided to order a blueberry mojito. The mojitos here are made with sake instead of white rum. I didn 't like the taste at all, but then I 'm not a big sake fan to begin with. The drink had no fresh) blueberry, mint, or lime as advertised in the menu, so it was basically carbonated sake with some blueberry flavor. I didn 't even finish it. Total waste of $11. I 've stick with wine or beer next time. My dinner came with miso soup and salad as meals at sushi restaurants often do. Nothing to write home about though. The salad was pretty standard and the miso soup was on the watery side but still palatable. Thankfully, my dinner made up for the earlier letdowns. I decided to splurge and go for the premium chirashi, which comes with a variety of fresh fish including tuna, salmon, snapper, and yellowtail over sushi rice. This chirashi dish was $45, hence the premium tag, but they also have two less expensive varieties of chirashi $25 and $35) that come with less fish variety. The waitress pointed out all the different kinds of fish to me when she brought me the dish, which was a nice touch I haven 't experienced at other sushi restaurants. The dish was neatly presented and all of the fish was delicious fresh, flavorful, and smooth. I particularly enjoyed the bluefin tuna and the salmon. The quality and portion sizes of the fish made the dish worth the price tag. The sushi rice was good but rather plain. I 'm used to having chirashi with seasoned rice but given the rich flavors of the fish, I didn 't mind too much. I was very satisfied once I was done. Overall I 've enjoyed my dining experiences here. I definitely intend to come back next time I 've craving some high quality sashimi and have some extra money to spare.
I look at some of the reviews and anyone that put 1 star it's honestly probably the customer's fault. This restaurant could smack me, steal my kids and make them wash dishes as long as they kept putting the Otoro sushi in front of me. I've eaten at almost every Sushi spot in Anchorage and this is by far my favorite. The fish is extremely fresh and delicious, and the Otoro melted in my mouth so fast you'd think it was your Ex husband in bed. I don't know who Peter is but I'd let him live in my home rent free and date my wife. Keep up the great work gents
Great place! Staff is friendly and hard working. Make sure they add up your tab properly
