Bidra med feedbackI'm not like most coffee drinkers, as I prefer cappuccinos - an Italian drink. I come to this restaurant specifically for their cappuccinos, despite the fact that the milk sometimes upsets my stomach. The drinks are made exceptionally well here, and the staff is friendly. It's a great place to visit any day of the week, even on weekends if you don't have plans. I often stop by before my weekend activities to grab a cappuccino to go. I give this place five stars.
I absolutely love this place and if I could have a favorite spot to hang out in my life, this would definitely be it. The coffee is consistently amazing and I enjoy the various ways I can enjoy it at ULC. The space may be small, but I adore the bar here. A weekend brunch is always a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend it if you are in the area. I have been a fan of ULC ever since I first tried them out in the blue bus at the Spenard Food Trucks. Watching beans roast in a cast-iron skillet in the back, and hopping from pour-over bar to pour-over bar was a delightful experience. I once ordered a coffee without realizing they were cash-only at the time, but without hesitation, I was told not to worry about it and left with a deliciously hot cup of coffee.
The drinks were delicious, but the service could have been improved. We weren't greeted when we entered or while standing at the register, so we had to initiate our order.
By God this place is amazing. Awesome coffee, awesome snacks, great customer service. I just ordered this on DoorDash and they were so accommodating and thoughtful in filling my order requests. They should give the barista a raise!
Uncle Leroy 's is a chill little spot in the heart of Midtown Anchorage, located at the corner of 36th and Arctic. ULC has amazing offerings of artisan coffee, specializing in slow pours, which is how they got their start before having two brick and morter locations (the other being off of Debarr, in the mall, near what used to be the Royal Roller Palace.)ULC is open now for indoor seating, and are maintaining good practices for Covid times. The walls are laiden with wonderful local art, and the coffee and food selections are quick but quite delicious. The only complaint I might have is when we were in there last one of the employees had chosen to play a song about If you 're 5-5-5, then I 'm SIX-SIX-SIX, and being that I 'm a devout Mormon who was meeting with a Jehovah 's Witness, this was slightly disturbing.
