Voodoo - Anderson

This is not a traditional sit-down restaurant with table service; think of it as the barbecue version of Fazoli's. The prices are quite affordable; my wife and I spent less than $30 on our meals. She ordered the smoked chicken sandwich without the bun, along with a large loaded potato, while I went for a huge serving of 10 chicken wings, accompanied by corn pudding and fries. Everything was tasty and served promptly. Additionally, after your meal, you can head to the casino for some gaming! It’s a great place, and we definitely intend to return.

I really enjoy the food here! It has an excellent flavor and always tastes fresh!

During my last visit, I realized I was short by $1.06 for my order. It was extremely hot and humid outside, and when I asked if I could step outside to my party waiting in the car to retrieve the dollar, the manager's response was, "I can't do anything about that." This lack of assistance felt unprofessional and was very disappointing to me. As someone who frequents Harrah's and receives various comps—trips, cruises, appliances, and cash—I would have thought they could accommodate a simple request for a dollar and a few cents. I left my belongings, including my phone and ID, at the cash register to quickly grab the money, but the situation left a bad taste in my mouth. I would expect VooDoo BBQ and Grill to employ staff who treat their customers with more professionalism. When I returned to collect my food, I was drenched in sweat from the humidity. Thank you, VooDoo BBQ—you really left me feeling frustrated.

The food is fantastic! I really enjoyed their catfish, gumbo, jambalaya, and red beans. They also prepare a delicious turkey for their Thanksgiving specials. I really hope they aren’t closed for good.
