Bidra med feedbackI was skeptical since I wasn't sure how great an all vegetarian place would be (I am a vegetarian so I have a lot of experience with bad veg food). But I was happily surprised by the quality of the food. Everything we ordered was excellent and the setting was really nice. The whole restaurant is essentially a glass box so you feel like you're eating in the garden. Great for lunch.
We came across the café on our way back from climbing the Obelisk, all 249 steps (but worth it) and in much need for refreshment. We do not normally do vegetarian, but this was very nice, quiche and salad, soup, and fresh passion fruit juice. All for E7.90 Would certainly go back if in town again
As a vegetarian I can't believe I did not discover this amazing restaurant until the end of my trip. Heathy, fresh, and tasty! I had soup, quiche, and salad. I the middle of the beautiful public gardens great ambiance The best meal I have had so far. Vegetarian tip when in other restaurants just tell the wait staff you are vegetarian ask for a vegetarian plate. Everyone has been kind and accommodating. With the exception of this great veggie restaurant don't get your hopes too high.
The worst veggie burger I’ve ever had. Ever. Dry, crumbly, tasteless. Condiments couldn’t help it. Even the tea and papaya juice were watery and just bad-weird. Maybe this place could do coffee? That way you could enjoy the stunning garden view without deep disappointment.
Casa do Jardim is certainly one of the best organic vegetarian restaurants I've ever visited, and it is located in one of Angra do Heroismo's loveliest settings, the Duke of Terceira Park. I opted twice for Casa do Jardim's lunch menu of the day (3 courses for only 10 euros), which included each day a different vegetable soup and mixed salad, once a main course of Mung beans in a crepe bowl, once quinoa with an organic lentil burger, and 2 great desserts apple crumble and banana cake. The third time I ate at Casa do Jardim, a Saturday, they offered a vegetarian lunch buffet, also only 10 euros. The service at Casa do Jardim was friendly and very efficient (note: you pay at the counter), and each table offers lovely views of Duke of Terceira Park, which is also worth visiting often, to enjoy its trees, flowers and fountains and lovely views of Angra do Heroismo , and sit and listen to its many birds and even a few frogs. Parents with small children can take advantage of the small section of the park with a children's playground, as well. They park closes at 19h, so afternoon is the best time to dine and visit. I wish I could give Casa do Jardim 6 stars; it's a real treasure.
