Understffed, out of champagne, out of Cuban bread, burnt coffee. Never again.

Absolutely delicious!! We had dinner here last night. I had the lady Wellington and my husband had one of the fresh fish specials. Both of them were amazingly delicious! We had dinner a few nights ago at the Beach Bistro and it was very good, but to be honest, last night’s dinner was much better. Our waitress, Nadia recommended their breakfast, so we came back this morning to give it a try. We were not disappointed......again, absolutely delicious! My husband had the breakfast burrito and I had the stuffed French toast. I would highly recommend either of these. We will be back on our next trip to AMI!

This is my first yelp review. And I feel compelled to write this because I was that disappointed. Sign of the Mermaid is my favorite yearly vacation meal at Anna Maria. Just to warn you: THEY HAVE A NEW CHEF AND THEY ARE TERRIBLE NOW! I wish I could give this restaurant zero stars. Our poor waitress was sweet, but she had to constantly apologize for the food that we kept having to send back. There was a reason the restaurant was nearly empty at dinner time when the beach was packed. It was always my fave key lime pie in the world and we couldn't even get a piece because they didn't know how to make merengue correctly. This is not the same restaurant it was 2 years ago and it's sad. For constructive criticism: if your food is going to be lower quality than before, you should lower the prices and change the style of the restaurant to please the crowd that is okay with Red Lobster level quality food. Honestly. Just go to red lobster instead of this place.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT!!If I could give it no stars I would but in summary what was once a great restaurant has fallen horribly downhill by new owners.my group of 10 which was only people in entire restaurant waited almost 2 full hours for our meal. Also when the meals came out they were one or two at a time and our last 2 meals came out later than others??? was this the cook's first day? they also forgot numerous items we requested such as butter for bread and side dishes also.. My wife ordered an omelette without jalapeños As she was eating it she noticed it was very spicy, she asked the waitress “mam, are there are jalapeños in this?” No, they didn’t put them in there the waitress said, as my wife is picking them out of her omelette and setting them to the side of her plate.When the waitress brought us our check she said “you know what... there were jalapeños in it.” We were disappointed at the service without offering to check with the cook when my wife first inquired and telling us when we received our bill. When my wife first asked would have been the time to correct it not telling us what we already knew, when it was time to leave
