Bidra med feedbackEverything about this place is amazing. The food, the staff, the atmosphere, and David. David came out to introduce himself today to our table which really made us feel special. We were able to ask questions about meals we were debating on. Ourwaitress was so nice as always. Always made sure our drinks were full and checked in with us often. I always recommend thisplace to friends and family.
We enjoyed a wonderful meal before our theater show at PM&L next door. The service was attentive, food was flavorful and dessert was delicious! This is a nice go-to spot for dinner, drinks or dessert before your next show.
Are you kidding me that this restaurant is in Antioch Illoinois????? The Chef David walks around between cooking and talks to everyone. They accommodate requests. The food is phenomenal. If you haven't tried it..do it soon. 5 stars all the way.
We have just discovered the place and love it. A little upscale in the heart of Antioch. Small Space but comfy. The owner David is a great chef and they have a huge menu. Some evenings David plays keyboard and sings. He is an artist on many levels. Wait staff is nice and attentive. Definitely a must try.
I 'm updating my review to include my thoughts of the valentine 's day plated dinner. Let me preface my review by saying that I still think that David 's Bistro is probably the nicest dining experience you can have in Antioch on any given night. That said, the valentine 's plated dinner was a disaster. Let 's begin with the dining room fiasco. Keep in mind this is Valentine 's Day, at a nice restaurant. Imagine my exasperation to be seated in a room with a table of teachers and no less than 8 unruly children. The biggest issue I have with this is that the restaurant knew this was happening. The children weren 't participating in the same $50/person plated meal as everyone else... instead they were treated to spaghetti and meatballs while the other diners were treated to screaming brats. This isn 't on the parents, the restaurant knowingly took in all these kids and made special accommodations for them. Now the meal. First course: baked brie. Nothing special. It 's not great but it wasn 't bad either. It did however take a surprisingly long time for the meal to begin. Second course: pear salad with candied walnut(s). This was laughable. Please see the (s) on walnuts... as I could only find a single walnut in my salad. Apparently multiple walnuts was too much to ask, but it paired well with the handful of mixed green underneath it and the few pear shreds on top. Underwhelming. Extremely underwhelming. Third Course: roasted red pepper soup. Fantastic. This was the meals highlight. This is the level of food quality I was expecting throughout... minus the presentation anyway. Ever watch a cooking show where they wipe the rims of the plate as it goes out? Yeah, they missed that step as the soup was crudely slopped into the bowl. It didn 't look nice at all. Main Course: filet over au gratin. My filet came out grayish in color and pathetically small. The regular menu includes an appetizer where filet medallions are placed over chips with cheese... I feel like a single medallion from that appetizer would be more steak than I received. Dessert: lava cake, ice cream and creme brulee served with champagne toast. I have no complaints about the dessert. It was tasty. Except that getting the promised champagne was like pulling teeth. When we inquired about it we were told oh yeah. You need to ask for it. When it arrived, it was clear that there was some strawberry flavor added which was odd as the two glasses we received were not even the same shade of orangey pink when they arrived. David 's Bistro is a great place to eat any day of the week in Antioch, unless it 's a plated seating. Simply avoid it. TLDR: seated with a group of hellish children, subpar food, and overpriced.
