A few months ago, when Syudad's Marikina branch opened in Blue Wave Marquinton, their merienda buffet was good. For only P185, customers could enjoy unlimited goto, tokwa, lomi, ginataan, puto, dinuguan, and other Filipino favorites from 3pm to 6pm. During this time, there were very few people aware of this newly opened restaurant, which replaced Max's in a nice setting. However, when I visited Syudad again in Marikina, I was disappointed by the quality. The goto had turned into thin slices of chicken, the maja blanca was replaced with tasteless puto bumbong, and the camote cue tasted old. The tokwa’t baboy, which used to be good, was now hard. Overall, it was a complete opposite of my previous experience. It's too early for them to lower the cost, as the quality has suffered a lot, which is not good for a new restaurant in the area trying to attract loyal customers from other popular restaurants like Bonchon, Max's, and Shakey's.

The food is delicious and worth the price, especially if you try the all-you-can-eat merienda. This place is perfect for a quick fix of kare kare, and customers will not be disappointed.
