Gormley's On The River - Apalachicola

This was our first time dining at Gormley's, and it definitely won't be our last. The ambiance, service, and food were all excellent. Our waitress, Kimberly, was fantastic; she was well-informed about the menu and incredibly attentive. I enjoyed the grouper, while my husband had the tuna—both were delicious!

The salads were a bit disappointing, despite having enticing descriptions that made them hard to resist—kudos to the menu editor! However, the appetizers and main courses were all excellent. The grouper was outstanding, and the chowder was a must-try. The Oysters Rockefeller were delicious, especially after the stale crackers were replaced. Overall, it was a great meal, though on the expensive side.

THIS LISTING IS INCORRECT. Gormley's at the River is a new restaurant that Chef Brett and Fayah Gormley plan to open later this year at the former site of Caroline's, just a few blocks away. Stay tuned for updates! The photos included in this listing, aside from the one showing a construction site for the future restaurant's riverfront location being renovated, depict the bar at the Gibson Inn—the previous location of Gormley's at the Gibson. That location closed last year after new owners took over the inn and made significant changes to its historic interior, including painting the beautiful 100+ year old black cypress wood a glossy white. The new owners have introduced a high-end restaurant, but I choose not to support it; they brought in their own chef and staff from outside the area instead of retaining local talent. I prefer to support restaurants that are owned and operated by my friends and neighbors.

We love eating here. The food is unbelievable and they have a great wine list. Gormley's is in the historic Gibson Inn. Just beautiful!

Friendly service. My wife's steak was cooked perfectly. I could have made a meal out of just a few of the tuna sushi appetizers. They were delicious
