Bidra med feedbackGoing up to the first floor of the mall, you'll find Edo, a japanese restaurant (the only Edo in Arequipa, in Lima there are more than I think). We had an excellent maki table, for soles). Kind staff, excellent food. Drinks are...around soles per glñass.
Went to this restaurant with a local years ago. Was blown away, went again and again was blown away. Try to get a table at the bar, so u can watch the chefs do there thing, the deserts are amazing, all there flavours are...unique and the rice dishes are also great value, I won’t blab on except if u come to Miraflores and are a foodie u must try this place. No reservations, i you want to eat straight away come at otherwise after it’s usually min wait out the front, but they give u the menu and u can have a drink too, star service
My husband and I have begun our try a new restaurant a night tour of Arequipa's offerings. We chose Edo based on recommendations from colleagues at DH's work. It is located in a mall, on the second floor. The interior is very attractive, clean, and...well lit; however only offers views of the mall. If there is a floor of the restaurant above, I didn't see access to it. The staff was very polite and attentive. The menu offers (in Spanish some English), a variety of offerings: sushi, maki, tempura, etc. Under the maki listing, there were three options with differing types and amounts of sushi, nigiri and maki. We chose option The waiter brought three small dishes along with a pot with a spout for pouring the soy sauce within. The dishes contained sauces and sliced ginger. The sauces were a mixed bag: something that tasted a lot like molasses, and a mayonnaise mixture. No wasabi. We had to ask for that, then another batch and another cup of ginger before we finished eating. The initial two plates that we had were fine, but the salmon was fairly tasteless. It was the final dish of sushi that turned out to be interesting. I've had fusion before and think it is interesting to try the different combinations. That said, I am not nor ever will be a fan of any sauce containing mayonnaise being poured, dribbled or offered as a dipping sauce with my sushi. This third serving came with four different sushi choices: (see picture) choice: bread crumbs liberally sprinkled over and to the side of the sushi roll slices, choice: slices seemingly wrapped in white cheese, choice: slices with tempura edge, choice: also with bread crumbs that had been applied when rolled, or the roll had been fried. What was inside each I do not know, but over all each had very different textures and tastes. Some we liked, some we ate, but probably would not order again. None were inedible or tasted terrible. Taste is so subjective, that if this description doesn't bother you, then you will enjoy Edo. If you prefer your sushi be less avant garde, you could try asking for individual sushi to fit what you are used to. If we return, we'll try that or ask to see what the fusion offerings are for that night.

The sushi here has always been top notch but don’t order their stir fry. If you are going to sell stir fry, at least put a little flavor in it, also the chicken that they used was subpar. I would normally give this restaurant a...high rating for its sushi but for reasons of the other items on the menu I will have to lower that rating.
