George Street Fish Chip Shop

This review for the chip shop only as didn’t eat in the restaurant. The fish and batter tasted amazing as did the haggis. Am aware there are at least another 2 chip shops in Oban but would happily eat here again and again.

My husband and I both had the haddock and chips with a pot of tea and fresh brown buttered bread. The fish and chips were excellent- expertly cooked and beautifully presented. In fact they were the best we’ve had in a long time. The fresh tartare sauce was delicious. We were served by a lovely attentive lady. The atmosphere was cosy on a cold Oban winter’s day. We’ll be back when we visit Oban again in March.

Enjoyed a takeaway from this very good chippy in Oban. Chips, spring rolls, peas all great, my wife's cod was a bit tough, disappointing when the price of fish is so high. Still, as I'm not a fish eater, I would definitely return!

This is a lovely shop to get some fish and chips or some nice fried sausage. The people were working very quick and were respectful. It is mostly a take away shop.

This is some of the best fish and chips we have eaten. Really excellent food. We came here one day and came back the next day. We couldn't get enough.
