Christy's Tasty Queen - Arkansas City

Wow, the ladies at this restaurant are incredibly sweet! The food is fantastic, and the prices are great—honestly, I couldn't ask for better quality, especially for what you pay. I had the burnt ends sandwich yesterday, and it was the best I've ever tasted. Today, I returned for that and also tried the breaded pork tenderloin sandwich, which was huge! Both were absolutely delicious, but I highly recommend the burnt ends sandwich. It's the best food I've had in Kansas City during my two-week stay.

However, I've noticed an issue with pricing over the last couple of years. I stopped by for lunch this week after several months away, and for a tenderloin sandwich, a single bacon cheeseburger, and two baskets of fries and onion rings, we ended up spending just over $30. I understand that restaurants are facing challenges these days, but I simply can't justify paying $30 for a meal for two at a short-order place. It pains me to say this, as I truly love this establishment, but I won’t return until the prices come down a bit from where they are now.

This is currently the best tenderloin in the city! I'm talking about a platter-sized tenderloin that spills over the bun—thick, not thin. That first bite of warm, crispy, meaty goodness is nothing short of heavenly. I can hardly wait to dig in while it's still in the truck! The atmosphere here definitely gives off a nostalgic 70s vibe. I drive all the way from eastern Kansas City to this classic burger joint, which takes about 30 minutes. I spent $11 on a tenderloin and a drink. The menu is extensive, featuring everything from sandwiches to sides to shakes—you name it! It's pretty amazing how many different items they offer in such a small place. There's no indoor seating, just a few outdoor tables, but they truly have something for everyone. You’ve got to try it!
