Bidra med feedbackDon't order eggless from them! We ordered a simple eggless cake from here for a party and the taste of it was 2/5 stars. I had high expectations knowing the reviews and the presentation but taste was eeeh. I would say there are better options out therefor eggless crowd especially fact that they even charge extra for eggless ones. I bet their cake with eggs are probably betterbut that's not an option for us.
Not fit to sell Birthday Cakes. The lady at the counter had a big scorn on her face. Was so lazy that did not move from her position and wanted me to describe the cake to tell me what its ingredients were. She would be fired in most of the places Iknow, except at funeral parlours.
I didn't want to write a review, but I have quite a lot to say about Oak Mill Bakery. To begin, I came about a month ago in search of a two animal cake (8in below, 6in above). It was for a company party. I talked to Bill this day about color, decor, filling etc. He always cut me off to let me know what I wanted was a charge. For example, I wanted two different flavor cakes in the layers (I wanted vanilla in the top layer and chocolate on the bottom) and before I could finish, he immediately told me it would be a $50 charge for that. I understand he's forward, but for me it seemed like they only added a fee for everything and at one point it had to be so annoying that I left. When I finished with all my wishes, the cake was over $500. I left this day and went the road to Central Continental Bakery, which is amazing, and they were able to take me without being rude and did everything I asked under $200. (You did not invite me for two flavors of cake) It'll be fine here. About two months ago, I ordered a good anniversary cake from Oak Mill. (Before the business cake chaos) Remember that this was a 6in round cake with simple writing on the top. I paid $80 for it, and it couldn't feed 4 people. I ordered it for pickup in June, but was very busy with work and could not pick up for about 4 days. Ironically enough, his sisters today's birthday and I thought it would be a simple idea to use the jubilee cake and ask her to simply “Happy Birthday” for when I pick up. Right on the phone with Bill, he says his 2 dollar 7 cent charge. I mean seriously... either as I agreed and went to get the cake. When I was there, he was nowhere to find. Another lady (very rude attitude) has reviewed me and not mentioned the two dollars. 20 minutes after I left, I get a stunning voicemail from him and said I have to come back and pay for the $2. Seriously? I will never order a cake from here again, and I will make sure my friends and family to avoid this place. If you have a good cake with people who are easy to work and have average prices please go Central Continental Bakery in downtown Mount Prospect and AVOID OAK MILL AT ALL COSTs!
Terrible customer service. If you want to keep your customers or acquire new ones, you might want to teach the old lady behind the counter some customer service skills or don't let them talk to customers at all. My experience will stop me from coming back, I'll go somewhere where the employees are polite.
This place is a hidden jewel! They have a wide selection of different small pastries and cakes. You have everything. And they are DELICIOUS!!! I have a mini chocolate mousse cake, a piece of carrot cake, a piece of devil food cake, a mini lemon tea, a mini rasberry tea in any kind of mousse, a cranberry tea, and a larger raspberry tea with mango mousse. My favourite was the mini-limont tea, both chocolate cakes and chocolate mousses and cranberry crumbs. My favorite was the carrot cake, it was pretty dry. The other cakes were not bad, they had only a little taste and sweetness in the mousse part. I'd like to go back an hour to try more of what they have.
