A Estalagem - Arronches

A lovely surprise when we visited. We were staying in a hotel down the road and asked for recommendation nearby,lovely traditional feel nice blue pristine tablecloths , lots of traditional memorabilia and typical traditional food. Helpful staff in a very busy service. Highly recommended and great choice of wine.

We are a HK filming team visited the restaurant on 7 July 2022, our purpose of the trip was to dig out some exotic dishes locally, and we found A Estalagem. We tried 2 exotic Portuguese dishes ‘the pork testicles’ and ‘fried pork brain with eggs’, honestly, we really need some mental preparation and courage to start the first bite. The feeling was not good as you know you are having something uncommon, but when you put it in the mouth, it tasted surprisingly good, highly recommended for people who is looking for something special! After the filming of the exotic dishes, the owner Antonio offered us a big meal with the best Alentejo’s taste. We started with local sheep cheese, salad and the most important, delicious Alentejo black pork presunto platers, the elegant and savoury taste from the ham was exceptional. Then, the stewed pork feet, another highlighted dish of the meal, they cooked the pork so right that it melted in your mouth with satisfying taste of collagen from the pork tendon, seasoned with different spices and a stand out coriander flavour, absolutely stunning! Last but not least, the barbecue Alentejo black pork, we had 3 dishes of pork coming from different part of the pig, I forgot to ask the waiter what they are, but all of them tasted fantastic, the juiciness of the meat with the exploding Alentejo black pork flour, another unforgettable experience. By the way, Arronches is a historical town, after a big meal, walking around the town and do some sightseeing might be a good option, Thank god we found this nice restaurant and we will definitely visit them again.

We stopped near Arronches with no idea what we'd find. This restaurant was recommended by our host so we went and enjoyed it so much we returned two nights later. Fairly basic food but well presented and the price was very good. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

Quarto limpo, varanda com vista para o mar. Pequeno-almoço buffet com produtos frescos. Pessoal muito atencioso. Piscina exterior, sauna. Também fomos comer no restaurante e fomos muito bem recebidos e o pessoal nos atendeu rapidamente. Aperitivo caseiro, pão tradicional português, pizza e peixe com legumes e um copo de vinho . Parabéns à cozinha e ao pessoal.

Cheguei a este estabelecimento através da App TheFork e correu tudo super bem! A comida estava ótima e o staff foi super profissional e atencioso. Aliás, toda a minha experiência na Madeira foi maravilhosa, 5 estrelas mesmo. Super recomendo!
