Tokyo Express - Asheboro

I've been visiting this restaurant for almost a decade! I really enjoy the atmosphere inside and it is always better when I choose to dine-in instead of taking, but that makes it no less delicious! The latest remodel was wonderful for the decor, and they have now added a TV with popular music playing in the restaurant!

Food was wonderful! Had to wait a few minutes because they were super busy but definitely worth the wait!

I Went in and attempted to pay with a $100 bill, that was pretty old, but still legal. Cashier did the light test and marker test, both passed. The bill was then passed between multiple employees gawking at how old it was and then the cashier would not accept it. I then tried to pay with card and told their reader was not working. I was then told to walk across a dark parking lot in the middle of Asheboro at 8:50pm to go get money from the ATM. Very unsafe, as i am a young woman who doesnt appear frightening. This was an awful experience, which is upsetting as issues like this normally never occur

We arrived at Tokyo Express at 12:55 placed 3 orders for their weekday special for $7.25 Teriyaki Steak and by 1:06 we were served.The food was absolutely delicious, the steak wasn 't overcooked like a lot of these places do, and it was made on the spot, where you can watch.Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options, I didn 't get any.Kid-friendliness: The cashier was very friendly to all of us.

Woman taking orders at the register wouldn’t make eye contact and kept laughing, seemed off. Our chicken was chewy and tasted charred like the grill was dirty. Also small portions for their price increase. Just go to Sapporo’s :
