Ukiah Japanese Smokehouse - Asheville

Excellent. It’s a remarkable fine dining experience. The beverage selection culminates in a cocktail that will leave you amazed.

We made reservations here to celebrate our anniversary, and since we were traveling to Asheville with our dog, we had thoroughly researched dog-friendly restaurants in the area. Ukiah had received excellent reviews for its pet-friendly accommodations across various websites, so we decided to book a reservation. However, just a few hours before our dining time, we received a call informing us that their patio is seasonal and cannot accommodate dogs, forcing us to cancel our plans. While I understand that patios can be seasonal, it would be helpful to have this information clearly posted on your website or on OpenTable. The weather in Asheville at the end of February is generally mild, so we had no reason to believe that the patio would be closed. There was no mention of the patio being unavailable on any website, and had we known, we would not have made a reservation in the first place. Sadly, with such short notice, we had a difficult time finding another place to celebrate our anniversary.

I can't express enough how wonderful our dining experience at Ukiah was! We had a table for ten and opted for the tasting menu, and everything was absolutely perfect. Having lived and dined in Asheville for nearly 20 years, I can confidently say this is some of the best food in the area. The pacing of the meal was ideal, the portion sizes were generous, and the service was outstanding—truly top-notch! They even went above and beyond to accommodate our one pescatarian friend. Thank you for providing us with such a fantastic evening!

Dined for a second time for Chef's creative menu offering. A great value at $38.00 and it gives a coursed dinner through the menu. Favors and presentation were excellent. Zander provided great service and knowledge to our table.

What an amazing experience we had on Saturday. Jeremy and Xander were absolutely awesome, I can tell they have a great manager and hostess. They made sure we felt welcomed, found us a table (lucky for us, since we didn't have a reservation). Food is top notch and so are drinks. Definitely will highly recommend it.
