Mokja - Astoria

I live in the area and I've had Mokja many times before but this was my first dine in experience. I went in early evening and the restaurant was not full. I'd say that they had a moderate crowd. We were sat immediately and from then on it was business asusual. Ordered delicious food. Eat said food. Feel full. Our server was excellent; not too absent but not too overbearing. Iwill definitely be back to dine in. The food, in my honest opinion, was better dining in. I dunno. Maybe its a temperaturething.

Very cute atmosphere. Great spot for small groups and a date. Great selections of Makgeolli, which is rice wine served in a kettle on top of ice with lights inside. I tried the banana flavor it was the perfect dessert wine after feasting on the kimchifried rice and griled pork belly.

I ordered their Mandoo (Fritten Pignödel), Kimchi Fritten, and army stew (kimchi seasoned broth with ramen and an assortment of vegetables and spam). the mandoo came fresh and tasted pretty good. I usually prefer a slightly thinner dump skin fried crispy, but the meat/filling was good. I didn't care too much for the Kimchi riders. the kimchi as a stand alone is phenomenal. but together, it was just regular pumice sprayed with kimchi. the army stew was very tasteful and came out of piping hot. the taste of broth was a slightly spicy Kimchi flavor with hints of sausage/span. Overall, the court is perfect, as especially on a cold winter day.

I usually order delivery but finally today in here on the spot!! I have to say this is just amazing and these glasses are the cleanest I've ever seen in NYC!! The service is spot on and even have hot towels before the meal!! If you are in Astoria come to this delicious restaurant

On our second visit to the place, I noticed a change of restroom; the atomosphere was geogeous and of course it’s clean, and didn't feel like a restroom. So I couldn't help but take pictures. It is a place where you can truly feel how happy you are to be treated. When the staff found out it was my husband's birthday, she prepared such a pretty and delicous dish. And I ordered coffee, which was tasty Kona coffee, came out so luxurious. Mokja pleased us bumper to bumper!!! Thumbs Up!!
