Big Mamas Burritos - Athens

This is one of the most delicious things I've eaten in my entire life. I cannot wait to order it again!! It has a little kick but not too much. I added sour cream and guacamole and highly recommend it!

After attending Brew Week, we decided to grab some late night food at this restaurant. It was not very crowded, so the service was fast. My partner and I ordered the loaded burrito to split, and it was really tasty. He went to school in Athens and had heard great things about Big Mamma's, but was let down by the smaller portion size compared to years past. In hindsight, we should have ordered two burritos instead of sharing one, as we were expecting a larger portion.

I decided to give this restaurant a try because Chipotle was out of rice and queso. What a mistake. The staff were friendly, but my drink was not cold - just a room temperature bottled Dr. Pepper. The food was disappointing as well. I ordered a burrito with steak, rice, queso, onions, and tomatoes, but everything tasted bland and under seasoned. The steak was not great and I couldn't even find any queso. My girlfriend got a chicken bowl and she would have preferred canned chicken. The portions were smaller and the quality of the food was lower compared to Chipotle, despite paying the same price. I had been wanting to try this place for months, but now I regret it. I learned my lesson - it's better to eat something you might not love at Chipotle for a decent portion of food for the same price. There is definitely room for improvement at this restaurant.

I thoroughly enjoyed everything at this restaurant! I had been wanting to try it for some time, and I'm so happy I finally did today. The burrito was large and filled with delicious ingredients, the queso was flavorful, and the churros were the perfect way to end the meal. I would definitely recommend this place to others!
