Roma - Athens

I gave 3 stars because usually the service is good but this last time. We sat down. Waitress took our drink order. Came back we said we needed one minute. And then she never came back lol. We gave the benefit of the doubt but there was only 4 people in therestaurant and 2 waitresses. The kicker for us was that the other 2 people were directly next to us. And she came back talked tothem for about 5 mins and then disappeared again. We waited about 30 mins after that which honestly was about 20 minutes toolong and got up and left. Didnt leave so bad a taste that ill never go back but didnt leave the best impression. I guess thiswill be the new normal in todays post covid workforce

I have been to Roma a total of 4 times (3 with the wife), over about a 2 year span, and it has always been excellent. The wife has never been big on Italian restaurants or Italian food, but this is where we go now for special occasions. I always get the chicken Penne Primavera and has always been good. Once it had too much oil and I told my wife as such, while the chef/owner was walking around checking on people (which I really like) and overheard me. Didn't know this until later, when she told me he was behind me when I said it and turned around to where I was sitting. The next time I was there, which was at least 6 months or more, it had the perfect amount of oil. Wife always gets lasagna and makes it occasionally at home for the family, but has now been trying to make it at home like their's. Price is fairly decent. I went for lunch at work with a co-worker to Olive Garden recently. The lunch menu had probably 5 things on it and just cheap dishes to make for around $9-12. Everything else was $19.99 and up. I wanted the chicken Alfredo (noodles, chicken and sauce), not the lunch menu, just Alfredo, $19.99. Roma has better food and is close in price on fancier dishes to less pricey.

The Service was great. Very polite and very professional. The food was outstanding. The Fried Calamari was perfect. Was not chewy and had great flavor. The Marinara sauce is very flavorful and made in house. The Chicken Parm is delicious. The chicken covered more then half of the plate and was tender and cooked to perfection. For dessert the Lemon cake is very delicious and is not Lemon over welming and is not over sweet. I will recommend them to anyone and everyone.
