Didn’t wanna do DatFireJerkChicken with low review but nah what I experienced today wasn’t cool. Always CHECK YOUR FOOD before you leave. Was in a rush didn’t really check mine cause I get food all time there so I trusted what I was getting. I’ll frequent a different establishment going forward when in mood for Caribbean. Got around to finally eating, opened container… This time NO plantains, NO cabbage, NO sauce, NO napkins. Just a plate of rice and dry jerk chicken. So disappointed I didn’t even eat it. It’s cool though. Won’t be spending my money there again.
Dat Fire is true to the name. Since the place is owned by actual Jamaicans the food is very authentic. And they give you a good amount. I have had the oxtails and fish Tacos and they were deeelish. And their kale and cabbage mix... OMGoodness it is so so good. Now this location is not a sit down location and in the summer they do have some outside seating, but it's an atmosphere that makes you feel like you're in Jamaica. Also patking can be a bit tricky, so I would suggest calling in an order so you don't have to worry about possibly getting blocked in. Or find street parking close and just walk over. So if you are loocking for some authentic Jamaican food I highly recommend Dat Fire. You will not regret it at all.
This place stands on its name. 1st time here and it won't be the last. Every bite was bursting with flavor. Complements to the chef!
I had some really delicious jerk chicken, and the kale was absolutely fantastic! I’m definitely planning to return someday to try the red snapper. The guy taking orders was great, too—he really knows how to upsell!
