Bidra med feedbackI freaking love steak n shake. I don't expect it to be fancy, the food is awesome and the prices are great.
My daughter talked me into 3 stars. I said 2 only because the shake was the truth. My burger looking like swiss cheese did it for me. Garbage! I hate being robbed by corporate thugs.
We loved Steak Shake for 25 years. This one shut down during covid. Was so glad to see they reopened. Service got 2 stars because there is no wait staff. You have to order at a kiosk and then pick up your food at the counter. The burgers were always so good because of their crispy edge. Now that's gone, maybe because of a different meat or cooking method? The bun is different also, very chewy and dense. Not an improvement. And the ketchup must be the cheapest they could buy. It tastes like vinegar, yuck. Whatever genius came up with the idea of changing their food should be fired. The shakes are still very good, I don't think they changed. Probably won't be going back.
I always love steak and shake but boy did the menu go up in price with alot less options. I don't think the kiosks are for everyone. Older people don't want to be forced to use a touch screen to order. You should still have a person taking orders and seating. the kiosks were filthy too so I really didn't want to touch it so someone should keep an eye on that to make sure it's regularly wiped down. Not sure how the kiosks came to be but I don't feel it's a COVID safe thing to have everyone touch something when they first walk in. Yes, it was busy so I'll give some slack on this, it was just not very clean. Also disappointed that it now cost me $15 for a meal when it used to be $15 for me and my boyfriend to eat. I'm not sure I'll return.
I used to LOVE S&S, I started eating there down in Florida during the 90s and was very happy when they arrived in Michigan. Last week was my first experience with post COVID S&S and I won't be back. A BIG issue is how dine in has changed, burgers served in baskets, chili in styrofoam bowls and paper cups with self service drink station for pop ?
