I have been here many times and every time I go it never fails to impress me! The food is amazing and the service is great. Love the new summer menu and am excited to try it out! Love the idea of create your own burger as well which I'll defiantly be trying out! my favourite reastraunt for sure!
Very tasty. You can tell the chefs put their heart into making the food. Highly recommend the pork belly served here. The taste is impeccably well balanced. Awesome!
A hidden gem tucked away in Mairangi Bay with a different twist is how I would describe the Montrose Cafe Bistro Bar. With plenty of choices on the menu that cater for all types. I decided to opt for the Jambalaya Rigatoni Pasta the waitress asked if I liked spice as this did come with a little kick which i thought was a great touch of personal service. The dish did not disappoint at all beautiful al dente pasta, soft chicken pieces and delicate prawns with a that spicy chorizo sausage all brought together in a lovely cream sauce was fantastic and well worth the money. I have always been of the old saying never judge a book by its cover the same can be said here all day long. This will be a definite to come back to and will be very hard to decision to look past that Jambalaya..
The house-smoked salmon was aromatic and not too overpowering so it complimented the salmon really well. I tried the salmon hash and it was a very rich dish with a deep fried hash brown base, rocket, smoked salmon topped off with hollandaise sauce so pairing it with a sparkling drink may balance the dish. I gave my experience 4 out of 5 because I thought the layered salmon hash meant there would be smoked salmon layers in the hash brown but it was refering to the stacked dish. Also the smoked salmon had a bit of really hard skin or bone? Other than that the dish tasted really nice! The smoked salmon was the star.
