The Treehouse Coffee Shop - Audubon

I asked for cappuccino in a mug. The barista said, pick a mug, and motioned toward a wall of mugs. I went with the Yellow Submarine.

The place itself is still very comfy especially on rainy/snowy days. The food selection is varied and always solid. The problem is the lattes and frappes we get are so WILDY inconsistent depending on who makes it. I mean the drinks are never in the same ballpark anytime we go. We always hope the one young lady that made out drinks the first time and made us fans is there because we know for sure it will be fantastic otherwise.... My gf has felt this way for awhile but I was stubborn until most recently when I got a frappe that was just blended too much and was basically an iced coffee. Both our drinks were tossed halfway through and we headed a couple of towns over to get out fix. Writing this I know there are a million things more important than my frappe being bad. I also know every small town in this area has a coffee shop that is consistent so sadly I don't see us coming back.

This adorable cafe has been serving Audubon and the surrounding communities for more than a decade. If you ever wondered what Prufrocks might have looked like in real life, it might just be this place. Are you fatigued by soccer moms in Starbucks discussing Lululemon and the manufactured culture? And let's be honest, the coffee is mediocre at chains. The Treehouse is a fine purveyor of coffee and answers our prayers for something more than pedestrian options from the baristas at name brand coffee shops. The staff here don't just know coffee. They have studied it and have graduated with a doctoral degree. They also offer a variety of food options focusing on vegetarian cuisine. They do not offer or process foods that contain soy, milk, peanuts, tree nuts, and wheat. Hours Sun. 8am 4pm Mon. 6am 4pm Tues. Wed. 6am 9pm Thurs Fri. 6am 10pm Sat. 7am 4pm Holidays they close for: New Year's Day Easter Thanksgiving Christmas Eve Christmas Day

I absolutely adore this place. Such cute vibes in a coffee shop plus they make their very own gluten free bagel that is to die for !!!! I would eat one everyday if I could haha. Super allergy friendly and kind all the time !!!

The very best mom and pop coffee/tea house ever. I really miss it. Thanks Randy and Tina for all the special memories with my children (including my much welcomed 4-legged Jackson), family, and friends!
