El Faro Mexican Food - Austin

Love this place! I've been going regularly for about 4 or 5 months; not only because the food is great, but also because the service is AMAZING. If I've had to wait for a table the GM is always accommodating and making sure we have everything we need. Also, I have called the restaurant to make a reservation for a party that is larger than usual and they have been very helpful. In general, the service is great and the food is to die for!

Awful! Two tacos and the eggs were burnt and the sausage and bacon had no flavor. The restaurant had a awful odor. I should have turned around and walked out. There must be better Mexican restaurants in Austin.

I don't understand the good reviews. Got barbarcoa tacos and received grease tacos. So greasy my entire order was drenched in orange grease. The meat did not look like barbarcoa at all. We also got enchiladas and the meat in it was pink! Not cooked?! The rice tastes like nothing and the beans are disgusting. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to people I dislike. Complete waste of money.

The tacos are amazing. But the other main food dishes were over cooked and the rice has no spices. (As pictured in other peoples reviews).

I absolutely adore El Faro! It is a cozy, family-run restaurant where the owners truly care about their craft. You must give it a try! The enchiladas are delicious and the chicken fajitas are absolutely amazing!
