Bidra med feedbackFound a hair in my onion rings and haven't been back
I stopped at this place completely randomly, typed food into Google maps and exited to a place right near the highway. I noticed from the reviews the Wings seemed to be the popular item, but despite this I ordered the hamburger. I mean hamburgers are in the name of the place. The cashier told me the onion rings were good, so I grabbed an order of those as well, and took a seat. I noticed a sign advertising that they had been in business 35 years. A few minutes went by, several people came and went, picking up and placing orders, (most of them for wings) and my burger and onion rings came out. The Burger The burger was very much like a Whopper Burger from Burger King. The mayo and onion had the same flavor, the meat patty had a flame broiled flavor on the outer edge, and the bun was very similar as well. As far as size goes, the burger wasnt huge, but extra meat was only about 60 cents. There was also a steak burger option for not much more. Onion Rings The onion rings were very wide, the batter was crispy, the portion was large, and they had a good flavor. Im not sure if it was beer batter, but it was very similar, with the addition of a little bit of a sour flavor that wasn 't bad, but was different, it could have been lemon. Im not sure. Other Menu Items I noticed some random items on the menu as well. Cold cut sandwiches, crispy tacos, broiled or fried chicken, cheese sticks, and frito pie. Service Service was decently good, the cashier was friendly, spoke with all the customers, spoke Spanish and English. There was no table service, but the restaurant was clean inside. Value I felt the prices were a bit high. The burger was pretty basic for $5.60, the meat portion was a bit on the small side, the flavor was decent, but not different enough to bring me back. Combo 's made the meal slightly more affordable, but a basic no-cheese burger with a regular size onion ring, and a coke was $10.50. I saw a family order of Wings, 24 wings, 2 orders or fries or rings, and a 2L of Coke for $31.50 Which seemed like a decent deal for wings. Overall Impression I 'd visit again to try the wings, but wouldnt go back specifically for the burger over just going to Burger King. The onion rings were good, but not good enough to bring me back, even as a quick exit when passing.
The bacon cheeseburger was a classic old school burger. No frills, just a good ole burger. The fries I was a bit disappointed with. I do like the old school atmosphere in there as well.
The food here so amazing!!!! Remind me of burger joints back in when my grandparents will take me to a family-owned restaurant. Quality of meat in the burgers and chicken. I've yet to have the wings but apparently there are their number one item outside of their shakes.
Awful. Overpriced, low quality, cold food, rude staff. $10 for a cheeseburger and fries is outrageous given it is hospital cafeteria food from Sysco. I was the only customer in the building. Counter person sat at a table with the owner and proceeded to gossip about sports for ten minutes while my order sat on the counter (not under a heat lamp). After 15 minutes I got up and started walk to the counter. Doing so snapped the owner and the counter person out of their little gossip session. Finally get my food and it is ice cold, slice of cheese was actually colder than room temperature. Counter person made a sarcastic, insincere offer to remake my order but I only get 30 minutes for lunch, twenty minutes of which were wasted at this terrible excuse for a hamburger stand. Avoid.
