Mezzeme - Austin

I've only visited once, but I promise to update my review after I’ve returned 20 more times (and I definitely will be back). The ambiance is unpretentious, pleasant, and reminiscent of an upscale fast food joint. However, this is far from fast food: while the service was quick, the quality of the food is excellent and sets it apart completely. Even the seemingly ordinary white rice was delicious. The appetizers and salads are intriguing, and honestly, I wanted to try everything on the menu. The marinated and roasted chicken was outstanding, and my lunch companion raved about his Doner too. The service was exceptionally friendly.

Mezze is an excellent representation of Mediterranean-Turkish cuisine in Austin. The ambiance, food, and desserts are all exceptional. The staff is also very courteous. I highly recommend it. Food: 5/5.

Mezzeme restaurant is an interesting place to go to for a change in Austin. The food reminded me of what I had during a trip to Israel years ago. They offer a wide selection from the Mediterranean cuisine, including some drinks. It would be great if they can add more wine options. Price is relatively high compared to competition and to similar restaurants in other cities around the country. But my 4 stars is mainly for Lahmacun that was disappointing and nothing like what I had in other places; the rest of the food was great otherwise. I like to see this place grow and improve.

I enjoyed a late dinner on a Friday night with two friends after yoga in the charming plaza. The food was authentically delicious and brought back memories of my travels in Turkey. It caters to both vegans and meat lovers alike. The lovely owner stopped by our table to say hello, and he was incredibly warm and generous. The staff were all very welcoming and attentive. Even though the restaurant was busy, the service was prompt. The prices were very reasonable, and the portions were generous. The complimentary pita and dips were also delicious. There was an adorable dog show playing on the TV, which added to the ambiance. They stay open later than other nearby restaurants, too. We can't wait to bring our husbands along next time!
