Bidra med feedbackThe best flavors in Chalfont St Giles at an affordable price. The dishes were delicious, well-prepared, and perfectly balanced, all made to order. The waiter was very friendly and greeted us with a big smile. Chalfont St Giles, support this restaurant or risk losing it, which would be a shame as our meal tonight was fantastic. March 22nd, 2024.
I wanted to provide a different perspective after reading the last two reviews. I have been going to Miltons for many years now and I do not agree with the previous reviews. Perhaps it was just an off day for them, but that has not been my experience at all. I have dined in at Miltons as well as ordered takeout, and I have always been impressed. It is usually quiet during the week, which I actually enjoy when dining in. The kitchen turnover is fast, thanks to the takeout and delivery orders, so I know the ingredients are fresh. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food. The menu is extensive and has remained the same in terms of pricing for years. This is a charming, family-run Indian restaurant with friendly staff that I highly recommend trying out. Give it a shot.
I don't understand how this restaurant is still operating. Everything seems to be made from mass-produced purée. The King Prawn Madras dish had tiny shrimps instead of proper prawns. I had high hopes for a good Indian restaurant when I moved to the area, but this place is definitely not worth trying.
Friday night and no one in the place; for good reason. Takeaway order, over charged in apparent error and simply terrible food. Madras and Bhuna both could have been made from a cheap jar and mixed with bisto or gravy granules/water . Rice was a congealed lump of hard glue like substance . Onion Bhajets reheated leftovers saturated in old oil. Nam bread; stale and rubbed in presumably margarine. Unfit for consumption. Interior is filthy and see scores on the doors for hygiene report. A real shame Chalfont St Giles needs a decent place. It needs a complete overhaul or closure, from a deep clean to then simply freshly cooked food. One star is too much, but unable to leave zero.
Our preferred food when travelling is Indian/Asian but this was our first visit to Milton's. We so enjoyed our meal it was all delicious and we will definitely return. So many Indian restaurants in the UK serve food smothered with heavy, fatty gravy but at Milton's both our dishes were prepared the authentic way that we've enjoyed so much in India fragrant, light, flavoursome sauces with just the right level of piquancy. Even the naans were a perfect combination of both body and lightness. The ambience of the restaurant (a gorgeous traditional cottage style) is also a refreshing change from the typical furniture and decor. As with all good food though eat it freshly cooked at the restaurant don't destroy it by getting it delivered on the back of a moped!! Thank you again for such a great meal. Paul Heather
