Wirtshaus zum Starnbrau - Bad Tölz

Service was excellent, the waiter was fantastic, very pleasant and polite he even picked up on our nationality and uttered some portuguese words. The localization is fantastic, we ate outside, and the bathrooms are pristine. The food was average, the schnitzel was plain bad, tasted like a McDonald's chicken nugget, the grilled sausages were decent though, but nothing special. They also lack an English menu, which is incomprehensible for such a tourist rich town. If you're in a rush and everything else is full, you can settle for this one, but I'd recommend trying a higher rated restaurant.

Right in the center of this lovely Bavarian city, the restaurant offers traditional Bavarian food, good beer and interesting atmosphere. Its popular with locals, which to me is always a bonus.

Ate here tonight - outside. Service was abysmal - possibly because we are non-German speakers. Wiener schnitzel was the worst we have had in Austria and Germany during our travels. Pommes frites had been sitting around for quite a while. Dinner drinks failed to arrive before we finished the meal.

Our trusted place for consistently good traditional & honest Bavarian fare in a comfy atmosphere. Watch the chef preparing your food on the charcoal-grill and appreciate the Service with a smile.

This restaurant has really lovely and helpful staff as well as great bavarin food, beer, wine etc. We ate here 3 times 2 dinners 1 lunch, also saw Ireland beat Germany so good memories of this retaurant. We spent 5 days in Bad Tolz it's a fatastic and beautiful place.
